Many harwood floor owners use wax to restore or finish their hardwod floors, as wax may seem to be the answer, it's really not try using polishes that are wax free, reason being when it is time to refinish your hardwood floors wax build up can affect the finish and causing a break down in the polyurethane which can crack and peel making the floor look worse than before. In most cases wax can be removed with denatured alcohol but this process may not remove all the embedded wax that has soaked into the pores of the wood causing it to migrate back upon the surface.
